{ Cooper's Birthday Festivities }

Let me start off by saying ... we know how to throw a PAR-TAYYYY! yeah.. haha... i invited my family down for a birthday dinner for coop. The original plan was to BBQ up in the canyon but with all the rain i didn't want to chance a muddy mess. so we just decided to hang at our house. After dinner my mom went to get coopers gift out of the trunk and locked the KEYS inside the trunk with her purse in the front seat with an additional set of keys. So what do you think 3 grown men choose to do ??? why call a lock smith "?? open it yourself. Brock works at a car lot and knew how to open the door enough to get a spy tool inside.
Here is Brock prying open the doors just enough to use their secret moves to open the locks.
Here is my dad giving it a go.
Their tool of choice?? a hot dog roaster... PERFECT...to be cont.
after TOO long of waiting for the celebration of the door unlocked i headed back to the party.
Because my canyon plans were ruined Scott brought home a fire pit he got from a friend with a box full of wood ready for smores galore! :)
Here is cheree getting warmed by the fire.....i think her face is stuck like that though.
Jake and the kids chilling behind the SAFETY line grandma drew so no one got to close to the flames. SAFETY FIRST PEOPLE, SAFETY FIRST!
Cooper opening his gifts!
Cooper by the fire light
He's LOVING this shape sorter
after presents we roasted marshmallows and ate smores.....hmmmm yummm
then it was cake and candle time! :) here is cooper's big fat daddy cupcake from costco
Blowing out the candle!

to finish the night right grandma read the kids a story. "There is a monster at the end of this book" which they loved! thanks grandma!
Being the awesome mother i am ... i then let cooper eat the rest of his cupcake for breakfast this morning! haha... a balanced meal right ?? what can i say, he's still my baby... sometimes he gets what he wants.... sometimes.... hahaha

Car drama cont. needless to say it was a long night for my visiting family. after the 3 men couldn't get the lock open, my dad being the frugal one he is didn't want to call a lock smith and pay when he has a spare set of keys....but where are the spares you ask ?? oh just back home... so Scott and my dad decide to head back and get them. well when Scott got my dad home he searched for an hour ... NO KEYS.. LIVID is probably an understatement at this point! so Scott was driving back home and my family was just supposed to sleep over. well by 1 am my dad was ready to give in to the lock smith. who arrived ... open the door in about 30 seconds and only charged $54.00 bucks. but it wouldn't have been much of a story if he'd done that first would it! good times! thanks mom and dad for coming down ! we had a great time!

well that is a funny story! Moral of the story is... it ok to be frugal just not so tight you squeak:O)

I know "safty first" but dang did cooper have to be buckled the whole night???

I LOVE cupcakes, donuts, diet coke, rice krispie treats, or just plain old candy for breakfast. I dont see what the big deal is:O)

That car key story is hilarious, especially when it is not you! Love the safety line too. And I can't believe your baby is 2, crazy how time flies.
